Risk Factors for Bronchiolitis in Infants of Hazara Division - A Cross Sectional Study

OBJECTIVES Bronchiolitis is one of the major causes hospitalization in infants. Higher rate and mortality can be reduced by recognizing control risk factors for bronchiolitis. The objective this study to ascertain bronchiolitis infants, local population Hazara Division. METHODOLOGY This cross-sectional was done Ayub teaching hospital form January, 2020 till June 2020. Infants both gender from age 3 months 12 were included with diagnosis Patients croup, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis bronchomalasia are excluded. Demographic variables, clinical characteristics related infant, mother family documented on specific proforma. data analyzed SPSS 21. RESULTS There 101 Mean 5±3.5 months. Male female ratio 2.8. 77.2% infant had de livery through surgical procedure 82% term. 45% infants exclusively breast fed. 34% patients room carpeted, 35% exposed molds 81% history contact infected person.28% passive smoke, 49% allergies 60% mothers uses perfume their child’s. 31% have more than 10 members living 2 rooms (p=0.000).
